CanIronX - July 2 - 5, 2015, the Cape Breton Blacksmith Association is hosting the largest Canadian blacksmithing event in Nova Scotia, CA. Visit the website www.canironx.ca for details on the line-up of demonstrators, the accommodations and the registration page. I will be interviewing Albert Paley, Lorelei Simms, Zeevik Gottleib, Grant Haverstock (event organizer), Lynn Reierson (event organizer) and Ian Hope-Simpson in the weeks leading up to CanIronX.
International Blacksmiths Day - May 23, 2015 -Every year on the 4th Saturday in May is International Blacksmith Day. This day is to celebrate all the blacksmiths in the world as well as to promote the craft by opening up your smithy and inviting visitors to come in and view the craft, maybe swing a hammer too!
